Things That Make Me Smile
Monday and Tuesday of this week were dark, wet, dreary, and cold. Nothing can dampen the spirit like a cold rain in Maine. But, as I drove home from work Tuesday night, this happened. The clouds broke and the colors bloomed in the sky. It was the metaphor I needed--that the very things that made me feel blah, the low-hanging, dense rainclouds, were now the canvas on which the setting sun's colors were reflected. What brings sorrow can also bring joy. I'm going to try to hold on to this image as a reminder. Maybe I'll copy it and stick a photo in places to have it on hand--on my car visor, at my office, in my home, and in my purse. I'm grateful I had the chance to see this and to stop and take a picture of it.
Continuing in this vein, here are links to things that made me smile this week. There's the music video from the youth of First Nation Grassy Narrows in Canada, a wonderful spoken poem from Sarah Kay, and a set of videos from the Playfochange.org folks (this, this, and this link to their website). Plus, there is this good news for my husband ; )
Hope you find the colors within your clouds!
